I am going on vacation, can I get my books for a longer loan period?
Yes! We encourage you to have your items extended so they are not due back until you have arrived back home. Just ask for a special loan period.
What do I do if the items I borrowed are damaged?
Please bring the item into the library so we can see if it can be fixed.
What do I do if the items I borrowed are ruined?
When an item is beyond repair or not suitable for circulation the borrower must pay for the replacement of the item. Occasionally we will take replacement items, be sure to ask.
Why does a parent have to sign a permission form for anyone under the age of 18 to use the Internet?
The library does not filter the Internet at this time. There for we want parents to be aware that users may enter chat rooms, social networking sites. We strive to teach responsible Internet use by all patrons.
What do the red dots on the books mean?
The red dots are used to visually identify books that are new to our collection and should be shelved in the designated display areas.
Sometimes when I try to reserve a book the system tells me it is
unavailable. Why?
There are many reasons why an item may be unavailable. Most
libraries limit the loaning of new materials to their own patrons
or patrons who support the library with their taxes. The usual length of
time is 6 months. Some libraries also limit the loaning of specific
materials such as DVDs. And sometimes the items are lost. Be sure to
tell our librarians if you are not able to get the item you are looking for
fill out our "suggested purchase form" at the circulation desk and give it
to the librarian.
